  1. What am I?

Give all the students a card with a picture of something halloween related on it. Witches, pumpkins, skeletons, vampires - whatever comes to mind!

Take it in turns for each student to describe what is on their card without showing their classmates, and the classmates have to guess what they are!

2. Write a spooky story

This will test your students’ writing as well as their creativity. Have a quick brainstorming session before to start them off and let them have fun creating a terrifying story.

If they like art and they have the time, what not let them draw a picture to go with it?

The students will also have a great time reading them aloud to the class and vote who wrote the scariest story!

3. Haunted House Brochures

Visiting a haunted house can be a popular weekend trip for many people!

Ask your students - would they visit a haunted house? What do they think it would be like? You could then give them the task of designing a brochure advertising a fantastic holiday getaway to a haunted house!

This could be completed as a group, in pairs or solo.
