Types of Schools

There are different types of schools in China. Have a read below of the different kinds and see which one might suit you. Some do depend on your qualifications, and others have more opportunities no matter what your experience!

There are:

  • Training centres

  • Kindergartens

  • Primary schools

  • Middle schools

  • High schools

Training Centres

Training centres are a good place to start in China. You will potentially teach from ages 4-12, you get mid-week days off where it will be super quiet for travelling, and you’ll also be starting later in the day. Great if you like a lie-in!

Kindergartens

Love young children and want to see their development? A kindergarten might be for you. You’ll work weekdays, and have the weekends off! You should also get a good amount of time off for the summer and winter holidays.

Primary Schools

If you would like to teach children between the ages of 7-12, you may enjoy a primary school. You can work in a public or private school, and will have good holidays and weekends off, plus benefits.

Middle Schools

If you would like to teach children between the ages of 12-15, you may enjoy a middle school. You can work in a public or private school, and will have good holidays and weekends off, plus benefits.

High Schools

If you would like to teach children between the ages of 15-18, you may enjoy a high school. You can work in a public or private school, and will have good holidays and weekends off, plus benefits.
