1.   Cool inventions

The Chinese people were the first to invent silk, the compass, the crossbow, paper, gun pounder and printing! They were also the first to use paper money around 1400 years ago.

 

2.   Panda owners

China is the owner of all pandas in the world! Pandas in other countries is lent from the PRC (People’s Republic of China).

 

3.   Chinese Religion

Many Chinese practice Taoism, Confucianism, and Buddhism. However, because of its large population, China is considered to be a multi-religious country with many of the world’s religions.

 

4.   Skyscrapers

Every year China builds at least 73 new skyscrapers! That means they build one skyscraper every 5 days!

 
5.   Chinese zodiac animals:

China has 12 zodiac animals – the Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. Every year is named after one of them. 2022 will be the year of the Tiger!


6.   Chopsticks

They were originally meant to be used for cooking, not eating!

The highest and heaviest outdoor elevator is located in China. The “Bailong Elevator” Is on the edge of a cliff and located in Wulingyuan area of Zhangjiajie.

Chinese brides wear red wedding dresses! Red is considered to be a lucky colour in china.

China has the most UNESCO sites in the world along with Italy. Some of the most visited and popular sites would be the Great wall of China, the Forbidden City in Beijing, Summer Palace in Beijing and of course the Terracotta Army.

 

10. Travel Spenders

Chinese people are the world’s number one travel spenders! They spend more or less around $260 Billion every year. That’s double the amount of American travellers.

 
11. Football (Soccer)

The first recorded information of Football was 2200 years ago and in China! It is said that the ancient Chinese people made the ball out of leather, hair and feathers. They called it “Tsu Chu” which means “kicking ball”

 
12. Fortune cookies

Most people believe that fortune cookies are a traditional Chinese custom, but it was actually invented in San Francisco!

 

13. Railways of China

If you could put all the railways lines in China together, you’d be able to travel around the world two times!
