Coolest school uniforms around the world

A shirt, tie and blazer may not be the ingredients for someone’s favourite outfit, but if we were given the choice, we wouldn’t throw away the idea of school uniform. Wearing a uniform is a badge of pride that creates an identity for a school - plus some schools make it worth the while with their snazzy outfits!

We have listed some of (what we think are) the coolest school uniforms from around the world that would probably give your old uniform a run for its money.

1. Galle Port, Sri Lanka

Giving white uniforms to children might not seem like the best idea. But I think we can all agree that with hundreds of school children out in their tidy, white uniforms, they surely look like angelic beings. These youngsters don’t only have great outfits, as they also have the most neutral uniform colour pallet in the entire world.

3. Tokyo, Japan

Believe it or not, but this fashionable look is not just to make the students of Japan look even more adorable. These cute little helmets actually serve as a barrier of protection from car accidents, as they walk on the busy streets of Japan quite regularly. You'd notice it's mostly yellow, well this is to make it easier for kindergarten teachers to recognise who's the child they have to take care of.

You’ll be surprised that this fashion statement is a widely recognised Burmese national costume called the longyi, an ankle-length wraparound skirt worn by males and females. Students however wear green and white as it symbolises regrowth and pureness which just adds to the beauty of this traditional school uniform.

Elegant, yet fashionable! School uniforms around the world hardly foretell of the bland style that have historically been associated with academia, but instead a vibrant student body with a great fashion sense was at play here. Proud of their heritage, this school used the maroon colour that is taken from the flag of León, and paired it with a navy-blue colour and white socks and shirts to make the look elegant and stylish while incorporating their heritage.
